The skill development council (SDC) has been contributed by the ministry of Labour Manpower & Overseas Pakistanis, Govt. of Pakistan with the assistance of world bank, ILO and employers federation of Pakistan to make Technical vocational Education and training system demand driven, flexible and cost effective with the maximum participating of employers.
It is basically on the concept of Government functioning on the methodology of public & private partnership and assist the Government initiative to insure skills & knowledge needed to completely perform in work. The new concept of public & private partnership in education and training has been proposed to be the only solution to meet the most critical challenges of Human Resource Development in the 21st century.
The skill development council Karachi from its inception (1995) has been very successful in the establishing the missing links between business organization and training institutes and in catering to the needs of human capital development by arranging training for more than 4000 talented youth and as well as those who are already employed in various employment oriented Vocational Qualifications.
