LAHORE: The Human Liberation Commission of Pakistan (HLCP) on Sunday, while condemning the murder of Shazia Masih, demanded that the culprits should be brought to book.
Holding a joint press conference at the Lahore Press Club, HLCP Secretary General MNA Najmi Saleem, Chairman of the Minorities Mahaz Zia Khokhar and Chairman Quomi Maseeha Party Hanif Masih alleged that all state actors were trying to sabotage the case by manipulating the facts.
They said the authorities had claimed before the media that they had arrested all the accused but in fact only two accused, Naeem advocate and Amanat, had been arrested. Initially, the medical board revealed that Shazia s body had 18 bruises but, in a bid to save the accused, it did not mention the cause of her death. They warned the government that if Shazia s family was denied justice, they would take to the streets.
