CC endorses PMs decision to appear in SC

ISLAMABAD: The Core Committee of PPP has given approval to the decision of Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani to appear before Supreme Court in contempt of court notice and also fully reposed confidence in his leadership, reports SAMAA on Monday.

Meanwhile, presiding over the meeting of coalition partners, President Asif Ali Zardari has said that his government does not want clash with judiciary, pledging to abide by law and constitution by all means necessary.

The committee also lauded the decision that along with PM Gilani, the leaders and chiefs of coalition parties will appear in the apex court.

The CC also discussed the SC"s verdicts relating to NRO implementation case and memogate scandal. The participants facilitated the premier on approval of pro-democracy resolution in National Assembly.

Earlier, attending the meeting of the parliamentary committee of coalition partners, President Asif Ali Zardari said that the government is not in fight with judiciary, promising that his government will do whatever it takes to comply with law and constitution.

He said the government would not take any such step, leading to derailment of democracy. "PM Gilani will surely appear in the Supreme Court," President vowed.

Also, the participants exchanged views on the amendment resolutions tabled by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in National Assembly.
