Downpour inundates Bahawalnagar streets

BAHAWALNAGAR - Daylong downpour submerged Bahawalnagar Town due to poor drainage plus the apathetic attitude of TMA authorities which multiplied the difficulties of the people.
Fresh spell of rain started early in the morning and continued intermittently till filing of this report. Routine life came to a standstill as low lying areas inundated.
Dozens of Madina Town and Nizampura stage demo against the poor arrangements of TMA. They blocked the Chishtian Road and chanted slogans against the administration but not a single TMA official came to address their grievances. Model Town locality also inundated with knee deep water due to heavy rain and breach of Saim Nala.
Residents drain out the water on self-help basis. However, no report of any rain-related causality other than an electrocution of a cleric was received so far.
