BAHAWALPUR: Leader of the Tehrik Bahali Soba Bahawalpur and Muttahida Mahaz Senator Muhammad Ali Durrani has rejected the demand for the South Punjab province or Saraiki province.

Addressing a news conference here on Monday, along with notable socio-political and trade leaders, he said: The people of Bahawalpur want the restoration of the Bahawalpur province, which was merged in the Punjab by General Yahya Khan when he disintegrated the one-unit.

He said the leaders and people of Bahawalpur were not against the creation of a Saraiki province or the South Punjab province, but it must be created on the basis of the Multan Division and the DG Khan Division, and the Bahawalpur Division people and its land should not be included in the South Punjab province or the Saraiki province.
