President, PM not committed to Benazir murder probe

LAHORE: Naheed Khan, central leader of the PPP and a close aide of slain party chairperson Benazir Bhutto, has alleged that President Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani do not want probe into the assassination case of Shaheed Benazir.

The PPP leader stated this while addressing a gathering of party workers in connection with the 44th foundation day of the party. Senator Dr Safdar Abbasi, MPA Sajida Mir, Pir Ali Murad, Sardar Saleem, Chaudhary Aslam, Ibrahim Khosa, Malik Muhammad Iqbal and Prof Dr Nisar Safdar also addressed the gathering at the residence of PPP leader Sardar Hur Bukhari at Allama Iqbal Town on Sunday. No other prominent figure of the party was present on the occasion.  If President Zardari thinks that to arrest the killers of Benazir is vengeance, I will say it is not so but it is justice, Naheed Khan said.

She questioned who had given the right to President Zardari to forgive the murderers of Benazir Bhutto. She believed that all the PPP leaders were coward and they did not stress upon their leaders why they were not allowing investigation the case in depth.

She appealed the PPP workers to extend her promise that they would expose the murderers of Benazir Bhutto.  We are not scared of anyone and we will take revenge of Benazir Bhutto s murder, she pledged. She warned the PPP leadership if the membership of any PPP worker was revoked, they would not accept the leadership.

She maintained that those who chanted the slogan of Roti, Kapra and Makaan should know that people were committing suicides in their government.  I will not obey that leadership who would make the workers suffer, She added.

While addressing the gathering Senator Safdar Abbasi said that the PPP was the ideological party of the country and no one could occupy it. He maintained that government was busy in getting publicity while no one bothered to trial the murderer of Benazir Bhutto.

In the meeting, foundation day resolution was also passed by the senior PPP leaders in which they warned the government to fulfill their demands. In the resolution, Safdar Abassi said that government could not be run with the help of the personal friends. He said that government had increased the problems of the people by not taking the financial decisions on time.
