ISLAMABAD: The members of ex-Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Reforms (PCCR) aspire to get the Sitara-e-Pakistan over what they believe their arduous work in the one-year process to purge the Constitution of military dictators dirt.

The PCCR members often ask Adviser to the Prime Minister and Chairman ex-PCCR Mian Raza Rabbani and the ministers believed to be close to the Presidency as to why not a final statement was being made in this regard.

Premier Gilani, on the floor of the Senate shortly after the parliamentary approval of the 18th Amendment, had himself announced Sitara-e-Pakistan for all the 27 members, but with no progress in the aftermath.

But a few members are opposed to accepting the award. They argue that they did nothing outstanding, except discharging their responsibility to contribute towards the legislation. We are legislators and duty-bound to carry out such a task. A member said giving award only to Raza Rabbani mounted to recognition of all the members work. It was our national duty and we did not perform anything out of the box.
