Senate adopts unanimous resolution to seek Musharraf arrest

ISLAMABAD: A resolution was unanimously adopted by the Upper House on Monday, calling for arrest of former President Pervez Musharraf on his return to Pakistan.
The resolution was tabled by Senator Mian Raza Rabbani on behalf of Senator Afrasiab Khatak, Senator Prof Khurshid, Humayun Mandokhel, Abdul Rahim Mandokhel, Raja Zafar ul Haq, Dr. Malik and Khaliq Soomor.
It said the Musharraf was a dictator who had twice abrogated the Constitution.
The resolution said judiciary was humiliated and judges of top judiciary were arrested.
It further said that Musharraf had also cooperated in murders of Benazir Bhutto and Nawab Akbar Bugti and compromised national interests.
The House called for filing of a treason case under Article 6 of the Constitution against Muhsarraf.
