Talal accuses Musharraf of Benazir s murder

ISLAMABAD: Jamhoori Watan Party head Nawab Talal Bugti on Thursday held former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf responsible for the murder of Benazir Bhutto, saying Musharraf wanted to break up the country.

Benazir was called back home on the pretext of the National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) so that she could be assassinated, he said while addressing the Islamabad Bar Association. e said his father Nawab Akbar Bugti was murdered by Musharraf and they were going to file a petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against his father s murder. The main agenda of Musharraf was to break up the country and, therefore, he assassinated late Benazir and Akbar Bugti, he said.

The Baloch are patriotic and are ready to render any sacrifice for the country, he said. We are ready to fight for the motherland but unfortunately a large-scale military operation is under way in Balochistan, he said. Innocent people are being killed in Balochistan, he said.

The incumbent government, he said, is also pursuing the policies of Pervez Musharraf. The real face of the government would be revealed before the masses soon, he said. Provincial autonomy, he said, is the need of the hour and it would strengthen the Federation.
