ISLAMABAD: PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif would hold a meeting in Pakistan to discuss the implementation of the Murree Accord, PML-N Secretary Information Ahsan Iqbal said in a statement issued here on Friday.
Without giving a date for the meeting, he said the solution of the countrys problems was in the implementation of the Murree Declaration. Ahsan Iqbal said the PML-N had wholeheartedly joined the coalition government and its leadership wanted to make it a success. "We believe the failure of the coalition government would push the country towards a crisis."
He said the success of the coalition government depended on the restoration of the judges and implementation of the Murree Declaration in letter and spirit. Iqbal said the PML-N was concerned over the prevailing law and order situation in the NWFP and urged the government to summon a National Assembly session to discuss the issue and finalise a national strategy against terrorism.
He said the use of force may worsen the law and order situation of the province. Quoting a recent survey of the International Republican Institute, he said it revealed that 86 percent people of the country wanted the restoration of the deposed judges. The survey also showed that Mian Nawaz Sharif was the most popular leader of the country and the PML-N the most popular political party of the country.
