Vol.01 Issue. 07

Instead of wishing a Happy New Year in a conventional tone this time, taking caution from the havoc caused by the devastating Tsunami which has taken thousands of lives so far, let us mutually remind ourselves that what wrongs we

have done and what Almighty Allah wants us to do and let us take guidance from the Holy Quran, Seerat – e – Rasool (SAW) and education in this regard. Today, IT possesses a much wider scope at a global level, but unfortunately the degrees being offered by various universities/institutes operating within our country are of no value. Since these institutes work mainly for their profits, therefore, they do not impart education of international standards due to which the students lack appropriate knowledge required in the market when they pass out and apply for jobs. However, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has taken an initiative under which, many of the so-called and briefcase universities/institutes are exposed for their wrong doings besides introducing a rigorous monitoring system for halting the further emergence of such universities/institutes. But here the question arises that what is the future of these students who pass from such institutes? Realizing its national duty in this regard, Kalia Group’s “KalSoft”, a leading software house of Pakistan also a Microsoft Certified Partner for Business and Learning Solutions is about to launch a six months duration Hi-tech IT Training Course for Computer Science graduates at its newly established KalSoft Academy (KSA) which will be first of its kind (besides other courses & training). This academy is expected to be inaugurated by the Federal Minister for IT Mr. Awais A. Khan Leghari in the next month. This is indeed, another unique step taken by the Kalia Group which aims to give recognition and help in acquiring professional certification to the graduates through KalSoft Academy’s Certification program who have passed out from the black listed universities / institutes. Furthermore, KalSoft will also offer scholarships and internships to deserving candidates (conditions apply). Top students will also have bright chances of job placement at KalSoft. We hope and pray that may the new year bring lots of successes and prosperity for all of us, Ameen.

Mr. Mumtaz Ali Memon is the eldest among his 7 bothers & sisters. His father had a very good business in Jamshoro but unfortunately, he suffered heavy losses over a passage of time and eventually had to shut down his business. As a result, the family had to face a financially difficult period due to their limited income. Being the eldest in his family, Mr. Mumtaz had to suffer more as he was supposed to be a helping hand to his parents as well.

He did numerous jobs for earning a good living but his keen interest rather love for computer  education brought him to Karachi and here, he completed various computer courses while doing a full time job at the same time. Mr. Mumtaz remembers his stay in Karachi as the most hectic one since he had to study as well work and therefore, to manage them both simultaneously and successfully was a bit difficult for him. After completing different computer courses, he went back to his native town and started his own Internet café. From the earning of this café, he supported his parents and bore the education expenses of his younger brothers & sisters as well. The commitment of Mr. Mumtaz Ali Memon towards computer education makes him a True Role Model for many.
